For Nigerians abroad

Buying at home from abroad? Check it yourself.

You shouldn't have to rely on an agent, caretaker or relative to tell you what a property is worth. See the evidence, talk to verified brokers and watch a live viewing, whether you're in London, Houston or anywhere else.

Prices shown in your currency are approximate conversions; payments are made in naira.

Step by step

A safer way to buy from abroad

Six steps that protect your money. Most of them take a few minutes.

  1. 1

    Check the price yourself

Run a free price check on any listing. You'll see the estimated range, how the asking price compares, and the evidence behind it, in pounds, dollars or naira.

  2. 2

    Deal with verified brokers

Look for the verified badge: we check the broker's identity and business details before it appears.

  3. 3

    Request a live video viewing

Ask the broker to walk you round on a live video call, at a time that suits you. Not a recorded clip. Get them to show you the street, the neighbours and anything that needs fixing.

  4. 4

    Get the full report

Land, building cost, comparables, rental income and location in one PDF. It has a QR code anyone can scan to check it's genuine.

  5. 5

    Verify title independently

Before you pay anything, instruct your own lawyer to search the title at the state land registry (in Edo, the Edo State Geographic Information Service) and a surveyor to confirm the plot.

  6. 6

    Pay safely

Pay only after the title search, into an account in the verified seller's or company's name, and get a receipt and signed agreement.

Warning signs

Stop and get independent advice if you see any of these:

  • You're told to pay quickly to "secure" the property before others do.
  • The seller won't allow an independent title search or a survey.
  • Payment is requested into a personal account that isn't the owner's or the company's.
  • Photos look like a different property, or the broker avoids a live video viewing.
  • The price is far below the estimated range with no clear reason.
  • Documents are only shown as photos, never as originals you can verify.

Share reports with family and your lawyer

Every full report has an ID and QR code. Send the link to a relative or your lawyer. They can check the report is genuine and see the estimated range without signing up.

Reports and price checks are automated market estimates, not statutory valuations or legal advice, and uploaded documents are not a guarantee of title.
